About Danielle
Kia ora koutou (Hello) from Te Whanganui-a-Tara (Wellington), Aotearoa (New Zealand), I’m a freelance graphic designer with a love for screenprinting, stitching, and lettering.
I’ve had a fascination for lettering since I was little and used to trace from the old-school lettering books. I then moved on to calligraphy and to creating my own fonts.
The stitching comes from my childhood too. I used to watch my grandmother smock dresses and cross stitch, always enamoured with the different coloured thread. When I started cross stitching she was a harsh critic and always made sure my stitches were even and the back was as neat as the front.
Screen printing is something I have taken up in the last 5 years, although my mother worked at a screen printing studio when I was a child so I suppose it’s always been there as well.
I feel so lucky that I have found a way to combine all three practices with the skills I’ve learnt as a graphic designer to create pieces that I love.
